  • Be in the frontline of delivery of basic agricultural services, particularly those needed for the survival of the inhabitants during and in the aftermath of man-made and natural disasters;
  • Recommend all other matters related to agriculture and aqua-culture which will improve the livelihood and living conditions of the farmers and fernandinos;
  • Responsible for ensuring that maximum assistance and access to resources in the production, processing and marketing of agricultural and aqua-cultural products are extended to farmers, fishermen and local entrepreneurs;
  • Regulate the keeping and slaughtering of domestic animals and slaughterhouses;
  • Enforce all laws and regulations for the prevention of cruelty to animals;
  • Take the necessary measures to eradicate, prevent or cure all forms of animal diseases;
  • Recommend measures relative to veterinary services which will increase the number and improve the quality of livestock, poultry and other domestic animals used for work or human consumption;

CROPS DIVISION

  • Responsible in the formulation of programs and strategies to increase the farmer’s income by enhancing the farm productivity through conduct of technical briefing and establishment of technology demonstration farm featuring new package of technology;
  • Responsible in promoting crop production technology, educate farmers on regulatory standards in support to agri-business and market development;
  • Responsible in ensuring provisions of technical assistance to farm families through trainings, seminars and other means possible to increase competencies;
  • Be in the frontline of delivery of basic agricultural services, particularly those needed for the survival of the inhabitants during and in the aftermath of man-made and natural disasters;
  • Responsible in the delivery of agricultural extension service in the production, protection and marketing of different commodities;
  • Responsible in the implementation of different agri-fishery development programs and farm mechanization.

VETERINARY SERVICES DIVISION

  • Responsible for the maintenance & promotion of good health revolve around the eradication, prevention and cure of all forms of animal disease, regulation and inspection of safe meat poultry, mild and dairy products;
  • Responsible for monitoring of the slaughterhouse operation, anti-rabies vaccination, artificial breeding of animals to improve quality of livestock.
  • Responsible in ensuring delivery of basic services and provision of adequate facilities relative to veterinary services;
  • Be in the frontline of delivery of basic veterinary-related activities, such as the outbreak of highly contagious and deadly diseases, and in situations resulting in the depletion of animals for work and human consumption, particularly those arising from and in the aftermath of man-made and natural disasters and calamities
  • Responsible all matters relative to veterinary services which will increase the number and improve the quality of livestock, poultry and other domestic animals used for work or human consumption
  • Responsible in ensuring the proper implementation of RA 9482 Anti Rabies Act and RA 8485 the Animal Welfare Act
