Today, October 7, 2024, the City Public Employment Services Office (CPESO) headed by Ms. Mary Ann C. Biliwang in partnership with the Department of Labor and Employment, Pampanga Field Office led by Ms. May Lynn C. Gozun, Chief Labor and Employment Officer represented by Ms. Ma. Patricia Tumang, Labor and Employment Officer II and Ms. Catherine Mago, Labor and Employment Officer III, successfully launched “OBRA PARA KARENG MATWA AMPONG PWD” at the Mini Convention Heroes Hall, City of San Fernando, Pampanga.

This program aimed to provide an opportunity for senior citizens and persons with disabilities to thrive in the workplace, allowing them to demonstrate their capacity and dedication. As it stipulated in the R.A 9994 known as the Expanded Senior Citizen act of 2010, senior citizens who have the capacity and desire to work shall be provided information and job matching services. The Republic Act No. 7277 aims to provide among the PWDs rehabilitation, self-development, and integration into society.

The activity program is truly special, as it is the first of its kind in our city and province focusing on providing equal employment opportunities for senior citizens and persons with disabilities, a total of 115 beneficiaries were targeted for the said undertakings.

This initiative not only reflects our MAYOR VILMA BALLE-CALUAG’S 10 point agenda with her commitment to inclusivity but also her belief that everyone deserves the chance to pursue meaningful employment and continue being active members of society because according to her, BASTA FERNANDINO KA! KAYABE KA!
