As a newly minted City Vice-Mayor, the first 100 days in the office has been a fulfilling journey and a valuable learning experience. We believe that not only our office, but all the offices in the local government exerted an immeasurable amount of time and effort to adapt to change.
The new local administration is composed of a new Mayor, a new Vice-Mayor, a new set of Sanggunian, and new leaders of offices. This is not far from the scenes in the national setting, with the new President and Vice-President. But despite the instantaneous adjustments, we believe that we are capable of adapting well, with the help and assistance of all the sectors in the society.
We strongly believe in participatory governance, where all sectors work together toward a common goal. This is why we have accredited and continue to recognize various Civil Society Organizations who are key players in good governance. The Sangguniang Panlungsod also works proactively in crafting legislations that are timely, relevant, inclusive, and sustainable. It also regularly reviews existing Ordinances to suit the needs of the time.
In the first 100 days of this administration, we were able to approve and adopt the Executive-Legislative Agenda that will serve as our roadmap in formulating and implementing programs and policies for the next three years.
The 8th Sangguniang Panlungsod appreciates the leadership of City Mayor Vilma Balle Caluag and the hard work and dedication of department heads and City Government employees in making the first 100 days productive and impactful for every Fernandino.
We assure our dear constituents that the 8th Sangguniang Panlungsod is committed to work harmoniously with the executive branch while upholding an objective system of check and balance that is essential in maintaining a transparent and accountable governance.
As we continue to work and move forward, expect a more vibrant and synergetic local government where the executive and legislative branches work hand-in-hand toward the realization of a global smart City of San Fernando.
