October 16, 2024, is the 24th National PESO Congress with the theme “PESO: Pinatatag at Pinalakas Tugon sa Hamon ng Bagong Pilipinas” at Zamboanga City, Region 9. The congress was joined by delegates from different PESO in the country. The PESO of the City of San Fernando, Pampanga was represented by its Acting CPESO Manager Ms. Mary Ann C. Biliwang and its key personnel. Delegates from Region 3 was led by the DOLE Region 3 Director Ms. Geraldine Panlilio, DOLE Region 3 ARD Mr. Alex Inza-Cruz and DOLE Provincial Field Office Chief, Ms. May Lynn Gozun.
The goal of the congress seeks to align the strategies, enhance the capacity and address the key issues faced by PESO and Job Placement Offices. Thus congress will serve as a platform for strengthening their resources in line with the current priorities of the administration and the DOLE as envisioned in the Trabaho Para sa Bayan Act of 2023, the Philippine Labor and Employment Plan 2033-3028, and the PESO Five-Point Agenda.
The learning sessions from the congress have engaged interactive exchange of innovative strategies in improving service delivery which is aligned with the agenda of the City Mayor Hon. Vilma Balle Caluag on social development and employment facilitation. The multi-awarded Mayor Hon. Caluag ensures that key personnel are equipped and motivated with comprehensive insights on program implementation and monitoring.
