CSF LGU Supports National Railway Project [ Friday, 29th of January 2021 | 1 month ago ]
The City Government of San Fernando, thru its Local Housing and Settlement Division (LHSD), expressed support to the Malolos-Clark Railway Project (MCRP) by assisting in the property valuation and appraisal in the 13 barangays here.
The valuation and appraisal was being undertaken by the Department of Transportation and Land Bank of the Philippines.
MCRP is the proposed 53.1-kilometer-long railway which will connect Malolos to Clark Freeport Zone and Clark International Airport in Central Luzon.
Land Bank was tapped to appraise lands and properties that will be affected by the project and determine its market value, which is one of the requirements to acquire Right-of-Way (ROW) as provided under Republic Act 10752 or “The Right of Way Act.”
Meanwhile, the DOTr and Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) will spearhead the development of the MCRP, the first airport express railway service in the country.
For his part, Mayor Edwin “EdSa” Santiago expressed his desire to help speed-up the completion of the project and the “Build, Build, Build” (BBB) Program of the National Government, consistent with his vision for San Fernando to be the model of countryside development and economic growth.
It can be recalled that on March 06, Santiago, in collaboration with the DOTr, held a coordinative meeting to ensure the welfare of households affected by the project.
Furthermore, Louie Clemente, LHSD chief, committed to assist the affected families.
“Consistent pa rin yung project. Ang opisina namin ay patuloy na magbibigay ng update at kung may katanungan man sila maaari silang magpunta sa aming help desk. At para naman po sa mga may titles, pinapayuhan namin sila na i-ready na yung mga documents para sa right of acquisition,” the officer said.
“Ang local government ng San Fernando, thru our office, ay nakahandang tulungan at gabayan ang mga pamilyang apektado para sa ligtas at maayos na proseso,” Clemente added.
According to Clemente, about 2,000 structures from 13 barangays will be affected by the railway project.
