CSF All Set For Alay Lakad 2019 [ Tuesday, 8th of October 2019 | 2 weeks ago ]

The City Government of San Fernando, headed by Mayor Edwin “EdSa” Santiago and Alay Lakad Foundation Inc., held a press conference for Alay Lakad 2019 on October 7 at the City Hall.

Anchored upon the theme “Takbang Memalen! Para king Pagmaragul da reng Kayanakang Fernandino” this year’s Alay Lakad, or the annual “Walk for a Cause”, is chaired by Leoncio Co.

Alay Lakad is a program for the city’s Out of School Youth (OSY) which aims to “uplift their lives through education and training by providing them assistance.”

This will be held on November 21 (Thursday) at 6 a.m.
Assembly time and area will be at the Heroes Hall Grounds at 5:30 a.m.

There will also be assembly points in front of the City Hall (Group A); Lazatin Boulevard near Philhealth (Group B); and, in front of Pampanga High School (Group C).

During the press conference, Co encouraged everyone to extend their financial support to the foundation’s scholarship fund.

“We have 28 scholars. Ang lahat po ng malilikom natin this year will definitely go to the foundation. As we always consider the welfare of our out-of-school youth. We are knocking on your kind hearts,” said Co.

Meanwhile, a four-year Alay Lakad Foundation Scholar, Zarbeth Baldonado, currently taking up Bachelor of Science in Social Work at Don Honorio Ventura State University, expressed her gratitude to the foundation for its unending support.

“Sobrang overwhelming po na makasama sa Alay Lakad scholarship, given the chance po na makapag-aral po ulit after 7 years. Sobrang thankful po ako sa kanila dahil pinili po nilang tumulong dahil nandun po yung passion nila na mabigyan kami ng magandang buhay. Hindi po kami pinapabayaan at binigyan po kami ng pagkakataon ng maiangat ang buhay namin,” said Baldonado.

For his part, Mayor Edwin “EdSa” Santiago lauded the foundation for its outstanding deeds in ensuring the well-being of the youth.

He stressed that the local government will remain steadfast in supporting the actions and initiatives of the foundation.

“Here in the City of San Fernando, number 1 priority natin ang edukasyon para sa mga kabataan. Kaya naman there’s no reason para hindi suportahan ang Alay Lakad Foundation dahil katuwang natin sila sa pagpapalaganap ng magandang kinabukasan para sa mga kabataan,” said Santiago.

For those who want to extend support, the Alay Lakad Foundation is still accepting donations.

Just reach them through their email at csfpalaylakadfoundation@gmail.com or thru mobile phone numbers 0942-427-8923 and 0955-631-4512.
