Mayor Edwin “EdSa” Santiago on Thursday praised certified public accountants/ non-CPAs in Central Luzon for their support in ensuring government transparency.

Santiago was among the guests during the 54th Induction and Turn-Over Ceremonies and 1st General Membership meeting of the Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA) Pampanga Chapter and 1st Central Luzon Regional Conference at the Kingsborough International Convention Center. In his statement, Santiago warmly welcomed the assembly’s attendees in the City of San Fernando and congratulated the organization for its outstanding contributions to society. “I congratulate the PICPA for always doing better in their respective field. Sa inyong dedikasyon kayo ay nakapagbibigay ng malaking suporta sa komunidad, partikular na sa Lokal na Pamahalaan,” he said. PICPA is a professional organization of CPAs in the Philippines, accredited by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC). Anchored on the theme “Reinforcing the future. Together. Today,” the organization formally presented to the public its newly-elected officers headed by President Riza Anasco. Santiago encouraged the newly-elected officers to become good leaders and to support the local government in implementing transparency and accountability for the betterment of the city. “PICPA is with us in the realization of our plans and programs. Alam namin lagi kayong nakasuporta sa amin dahil kaisa namin kayo sa pagtataguyod ng malinis at maayos na pamahalaan. Ipagpatuloy ninyo ang inyong mabuting adhikain para sa lipunan at asahan niyo din ang buong suporta ng lokal na pamahalaan para sa inyo,” Santiago ended. Meanwhile, Professional Regulatory Board of Accountancy Chairman Noe G. Quinanola served as the event’s keynote speaker. PHOTO CAPTION: CSF, PICPA UNITE.
