CSF, PCUP Partner For Social Services Caravan [ Saturday, 10th of August 2019 | 2 months ago ]

Fernandinos were able to avail of numerous social services brought by different government and private agencies in a caravan hosted by the Presidential Commission on Urban Poor (PCUP), in partnership with the City Government of San Fernando on August 9, 2019 at Barangay Sindalan.

The caravan has been one of PCUP’s priority programs which have been staged in different parts of the country since 2019 started, and, through the support of local government units, the agency was able to give urban poor communities access to programs and services of different agencies. Gracing the event were Mayor Edwin “EdSa” Santiago, PCUP Chairperson Alvin Feliciano and PCUP Commissioner Randy Halasan, City Local Housing and Settlement Division Chief Louie Clemente, and other agencies’ heads. Included in the roster of services availed by the Fernandinos were medical and dental checkups, legal consultation, birth certificate registration and correction, scholarship and livelihood assistance applications, and eye care orientation. The participants were also able to raise their concerns and queries regarding condonation and housing, and acquisition of government pro-poor programs, among others. Halasan meanwhile thanked the city government for hosting their caravan and lauded the efforts of the organizing and supporting groups. This particular edition of PCUP’s caravan was themed, “Pinagsama-samang Serbisyo, Para sa Tao.”
