CSF Promotes Child Nutrition Through ‘Bibo Kid’ [ Tuesday, 30th of July 2019 | 3 weeks ago ]

The City Government of San Fernando, through its City Nutrition Council, continues to promote proper nutrition among children through “Bibo Kid,” an annual search for the healthiest, smartest, and most talented Fernandino kids.

For its 2019 edition, a total of 11 Fernandino kids, aged four to six years old, took on the challenge of encouraging the children and parents about proper nutrition as they exhibited their talents and health advocacies.

Among the talents shown were dancing, singing, and story-telling that highlight healthy lifestyle habits such as eating nutritious food and doing physical activities.
At the end of the search, John Dela Cruz of Barangay San Pedro was hailed as “Bibo Kid” for this year. He also bagged other special awards including “Best in Talent” and “Darling of the Crowd.”

Joining Dela Cruz were Nathan Sison of Malino (second place), and Calil Sephia De Guzman of San Agustin (third place). Jhon Nickelo Regala of Pandaras meanwhile brought home the “Best in Casual Wear” award.

Mayor Edwin “EdSa” Santiago, for his part, congratulatored the winning kids, and encouraged all parents to work hand-in-hand with the city government.

“Nais kong ipaabot ang pagbati natin sa mga ‘Bibo Kids.’ Itong patimpalak na ito ay naging tulay na para masama natin ang ibang bata sa adbokasiya natin tungkol sa pagkakaroon ng malusog na pangangatawan. Hinihikayat naman natin ang lahat ng magulang na makipagtulungan sa ating mga programa lalo na sa aspetong pangkalusugan. Ito ay para naman sa ating mga anak,” Santiago said.

Meanwhile, the Commission on Population (POPCOM) Region 3, headed by Director Rosa Fortaleza, also graced the event for the birthday celebration of five-year-old Kylie Dalusung, the city’s 100 Millionth Symbolic Pinoy, who was born on July 27, 2014.

Dalusung received a cash grant from POPCOM amounting to P5,000, plus vitamins and medicines from the City Health Office.
