Santiago Gets Warm Recognition From Multi-Sectors [ Wednesday, 13th of March 2019 | 1 week ago ]

Mayor Edwin “EdSa” Santiago led this year’s Multi-Sectoral Assembly on February 4 at Heroes Hall, in time for San Fernando’s 18th Cityhood Anniversary celebration, making him earn a warm recognition from different sectors in the region.

Santiago, through comprehensive audio-visual presentations, presented the city’s major accomplishments encompassing his 10-point agenda before hundreds of guests, comprised of Regional Office directors, members of the Multi-Sectoral Governance Council, civil society organizations, sector leaders, and barangay officials.

The Parade of Awards, a ceremonious handing of the city’s provincial, regional, and national awards and citations since 2013 until present were also presented to Santiago, together with Vice Mayor Jimmy Lazatin and the members of Sangguniang Panlungsod.

Education, being the current administration’s top priority, he underscored that CSF took other cities in the lead for the successful full implementation of the K-12 program, and the increasing numbers of school buildings built, repaired, and rehabilitated, which have accommodated thousands of Fernandino youth.

He also highlighted the increasing numbers of registered businesses and employed Fernandinos, the city being tagged as “Zero Waste City” and “Philippines’ Tourism Hub,” and its national recognition for its disaster risk reduction and management practices.

“Ang progreso ng isang lugar tulad ng Siyudad San Fernando ay nakasalalay hindi lang sa gobyerno. Ito ay trabaho ng lahat, kabilang na ang kanyang mamamayan at ang pribadong sektor,” Santiago said.

“Lagi kong sinasabi na ang mga proyekto at parangal ay pamantayan sa kung nasaan na tayo at kung ano pa ang ating pwedeng gawin. Tulad ngayon, malaki pa ang ating pangarap para sa San Fernando,” he added.

Meanwhile, Dr. Lourdes Javier of the Multi-Sectoral Governance Council thanked the city government for letting them grace the activity, citing, “the success of the city in various aspects is a result of its strong and boundless partnership with different sectors and we are happy to be part of it.
