For his part, Santiago expressed his gratitude to the NDRRMC and OCD for recognizing the city’s actions in providing better service to the Fernandinos.

He furthered that this recognition will serve as an inspiration for the city government and they will remain steadfast in developing innovative ways and strategies in ‘building a safer and disaster resilient community’.

Meanwhile, the winner for the Best DRRMC under the Independent/Component category is the City of Santiago, followed by the two finalists, the City of San Fernando and Batangas City.

While the Province of Pampanga bagged the Best Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management and Humanitarian Assistance Award.
