First CSF Employees’ Outreach Program A Success [ Monday, 3rd of December 2018 | 8 months ago ]
The first-ever “City Employees’ Outreach Program,” a project of the city government, culminated successfully on November 27, 2018, at City Hall, following its launch in September during the Philippine Civil Service Anniversary celebration.
An initiative of the City Human Resource Management Office (CHRMO), together with the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO), and Local Council for the Protection of Children, the project aims to extend help to some street children in the city, through gift-giving, in time also for National Children’s Month.
During the program, a total of fifty-two (52) street children and mendicants, coming from several villages in the city, were given school supplies, hygiene kits, clothes, and foot wears, all donated by CSF-LGU employees.
These children were also given chances to share stories with the employees, and play fun, traditional Filipino games.
For his part, Mayor Edwin “EdSa” Santiago thanked all employees who shared gifts for the children, which they can use for their everyday living. “Napakahalaga na may sapat na gamit sa eskwela ang mga bata upang makapag-aral sila ng mabuti. Napakahalaga din na may sapat silang damit at mga hygiene kits upang maprotektahan ang kanilang katawan mula sa sakit,” expressed Santiago.
“The real meaning of public service is ‘extending help to disadvantaged people, especially the children.’ To all employees of the city, congratulations for a job well-done,” Santiago added.
