CSF Promotes Child’s Protection, Rights [ Wednesday, 7th of November 2018 | 5 months ago ]
One of the most valuable sectors in the City of San Fernando are the ‘children’, wherein Mayor Edwin ‘EdSa’ Santiago believes that ‘they are the future of the nation and they deserve to be recognized’ that is why the month of November is the best season for the Fernandino children, as the Local Government celebrates ‘Children’s Month’ pursuant to Republic Act 10661, or also known as “National Children’s Month Act”.
Anchored with a theme, “Isulong: ‘Tamang Pag-aaruga para sa Lahat ng Bata’ the unveiling of Children’s Month calendar of activities was led by Mayor Santiago and Senator JV Ejercito together with Vice Mayor Jimmy Lazatin, City Councilors Harvey Quiwa, Ruping Dumlao, and members of the Local Council for the Protection of Children (LCPC).
For this year’s celebration, various activities were lined-up which aim to promote the rights and protection of the children including the “Lakbay Bulilit” on November 9, wherein children may enjoy exploring the tourist destinations in the city followed by “Mendi Camp 2018” on November 10.
On November 13 and 16, there will be a Day Care Provincial and Regional Children’s Congress.
While, the Child and Youth Leader’s Camp Cum Search for Fernandino Child and Youth Ambassadors 2018 will take place on November 17, 2018.
Members of the Local Council for the Protection of Children (LCPC) and Barangay Council for the Protection of Children (BCPC) will undergo training at Las Casas, Bataan from November 21-22, while Camp Bulilit will take place from November 22-25.
The first ever ‘Therafree’ for children with disabilities will be on November 25, followed by a LCPC Humanitarian Service (Government Social Responsibility Program) on November 27.
To cap-off the month-long celebration, Santiago will deliver his annual ‘State of the Children’s Report’ during the Children’s Summit on November 29. A Child Friendly Barangay Governance Award will take place on the same day.
For his part, Santiago reiterated that every child in the City of San Fernando deserves to receive proper care and treatment to ensure their total well-being and to provide them a healthy, protective, and safe environment.
