Mayor EdSa Recognizes Elders’ Great Contributions [ Wednesday, 7th of November 2018 | 5 months ago ]

This was Mayor Edwin ‘EdSa’ Santiago’s message to the senior citizens in the City of San Fernando during the celebration of Elderly Week on October 30, 2018 at the Mini Convention Center, Heroes Hall.

Anchored with the theme “Kilalanin at Parangalan Tagasulong ng Karapatan ng Nakakatanda tungo sa Lipunang Makalinga” the activity was made possible through the initiatives of the City Social Welfare and Development Office and Office of the Senior Citizens which aims to ‘show love and respect to the elders’ as they are equally valuable in the society.

All smiles were seen in their faces, as the Local Government San Fernando conducted various activities for them including “solo singing contest and group dance competition”.

During his speech, Mayor Edwin ‘EdSa’ Santiago stressed that “senior citizens have gone through enough in their lives and have contributed a lot in the society” for they deserved to be recognized.

He furthered that the Local Government is always willing to support the elders, wherein various social services were intended for them including free medical check-ups in the City Health Office, and free movie pass in cinemas every Monday to ensure and improve their total well-being.
