TESDA: San Fernando Is An Outstanding Partner [ Wednesday, 7th of November 2018 | 3 months ago ]
The Public Employment Service Office (PESO) of the City of San Fernando once more received recognition, this time the Kabalikat Award, adding to the roster of awards it has been receiving since then.
Conferred by Technical, Educational Skills and Development Authority or TESDA, the 2018 Kabalikat Provincial Award is given to a local government unit which played a “remarkable performance in the promotion and enhancement of technical education and skills development.”
In his speech, TESDA Provincial Director Jaime Castillo, said that the city, through its PESO, has invested enough funds to implement programs and projects for the Fernandinos, making it the agency’s “outstanding partner.”
“It invested almost 2 million pesos from 2015-2017 on skills training scholarship, NCII (National Certificate) Assessment, and employment facilitation services such as provision of starter kits and referral for wage employment,” said Castillo.
Castillo also shared the city’s accomplishment in terms of trained graduate production.
“The city also produced more than 500 trained graduates and 89.45% of these graduates were assisted and monitored employed,” added Castillo.
For his part, Mayor Edwin “EdSa” Santiago said he is glad to be named “outstanding partner of TESDA.”
“The PESO has been receiving recognitions from other government offices, locally and nationally. Now, we are considered as TESDA’s outstanding partner. Meaning, napalitan ng karangalan ang ating kapaguran sa pagbibigay ng magandang kabuhayan sa Fernandinos,” expressed Santiago.
It could be recalled that in 2017, PESO San Fernando received the Civil Service Commission’s Regional PAGASA Award, and in 2018, it was named as Outstanding PESO Implementer by the Department of Labor and Employment.
