Indeed, the month of September is truly a delighted time for Fernandina women, as the City of San Fernando recognizes their vital roles in the society through a ‘Women’s Week’ celebration.
Anchored with the theme “Fernandina, Kaantabay sa Buhay na ganap, Kabuhayang Matatag, Pamayanang Maunlad”, the local government, through its Women’s Executive Committee, Gender and Development, and department heads unveiled the calendar of activities for this year’s Women’s week celebration in commemoration of the 144th Birth Anniversary of Nicolasa Dayrit-Panlilio during the Monday’s flag raising ceremony at the City Hall Atrium.
This was followed by a press conference at the Henson-Hizon residence, wherein Nicolasa Dayrit-Panlilio’s monument was wreath-laid by some city officials, members of the Women’s Execom, and ancestors of Dayrit-Panlilio.
During the press conference, Local Council of Women Chairperson Dr. Leticia Yap said that various programs and activities were lined-up, highlighting women empowerment in the society.
‘Siniguro natin na yung mga activities natin this time ay talagang masusulong yung mga kakayahan at kalakasan ng mga kababaihan dito sa ating lipunan sa iba’t-ibang aspeto,” she said.
