Mayor “EdSa” Expresses Support To NEU’s Sign Language Programs [ Thursday, 6th of September 2018 | 7 months ago ]
Mayor Edwin “EdSa” Santiago received a warm welcome from the whole community of Iglesia Ni Cristo-run institution, New Era University- Pampanga Branch, on September 4, 2018.
NEU President Dr. Nilo Rosas and NEU-Pampanga Branch Director Bro. Alberto Domingo led the welcoming of Santiago, who served as their events’ guest speaker.
As the program rolled on the Launching of the Certification Program for Sign Language Interpreters, Santiago shared insights on the importance of implementing PWD (persons with disabilities)-friendly programs.
NEU also presented their Sign Language Guide Book and Mobile Application (Iglesia Ni Cristo SL App), two (2) channels that were created to assist the deaf and non-deaf INC and non-INC members improve their communication skills in sign language.
These materials contain sign language guides on alphabets, numbers, days, colors, emotions, greetings, and the like, which are used for daily communication.
Meanwhile, NEU also re-launched their official website, which can be accessed through www.neu.edu.ph.
Santiago ended his speech by expressing gratitude to NEU for its initiative towards equality.
