Ninoy Aquino’s 35th Death Anniversary Remembered By Fernandinos [ Tuesday, 21st of August 2018 | 4 years ago ]

Local officials and employees of the City
Government of San Fernando trooped in front of the monument of late Senator
Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino Jr., at Heroes Park this morning to commemorate his 35th
Death Anniversary.
A short program was held despite the continuous
rains wherein the local hero’s descendant Senator Paolo Benigno “Bam” Aquino IV,
together with city officials headed by Mayor Edwin “EdSa” Santiago, led the
unveiling of the monument and wreath laying ceremony.
Mayor EdSa highlighted that Ninoy’s life itself
was his greatest contribution to the country for it served as a way to restore freedom
and democary.
paroroonan,” he added.
For his part, Senator Bam thanked the local
government and the Fernandinos for remembering his uncle. He even said that the
rain seems to be a sign from Ninoy in heaven.
The senator also hoped that Ninoy’s bravery and
sacrifices will serve as inspiration to the Filipino people in order to face
the current challenges and work towards the betterment of our country.
For the people, maganda na maalala na may lingkod bayan tayo na handang ibigay
Also at the event were Vice Mayor Jimmy Lazatin and
Councilors Harvey Quiwa, Reden Halili and Gustav Henson, CSFP Arts and Culture
Council led by Chairperson Dr. Lourdes Javier, Teresita Lorenzo of National Commission on Indigenous Peoples Region 3, United Architects of the Philippines and
other private partners.
