“Cultural Heritage Preservation, A Tool For Progress” -- Mayor EdSa [ Monday, 26th of May 2014 | 3 years ago ]
This was stated by Mayor Edwin D. Santiago during the opening of Pyesta Kultura Kapampangan, the first-ever exhibition of Kapampangan culture featuring trade fairs, local cuisine and arts, traditional games, cultural performances, and opening of selected heritage houses in the Heritage District along Consunji Street in the city proper.
The mayor also bared the plan of his administration to turn San Fernando into a “family-oriented tourist destination” and the “number one choice” for rest and recreational activities north of Metro Manila.
“This activity is just a kick-off for something greater” said Mayor EdSa, explaining that because of its proximity to the airport in Clark and the seaport in Subic, the city has caught the eye of foreign and local investors.
“Of course we are making sure that we are prepared for this through our infrastructure projects and social programs, but what is important is that we preserve our local traditions that will show everyone who we are and how great Fernandinos are” he added.
