CSF Strengthens 'early Registration' [ Monday, 25th of June 2018 | 2 months ago ]

In an aim to strengthen and urge the Fernandinos on early registration of birth, death, and marriage certificates, the City Government of San Fernando held its 5th CSFP Convention of Partners in Civil Registration on June 22, 2018 at Tierra Linda Bldg.

Anchored with the theme "Napapanahong CRVS", the said annual convention was spearheaded by the Local Civil Registry Office and attended by the barangay midwives and secretaries, personnel from hospital, churches, schools, funeral parlors and cemeteries. In an interview, Local Civil Registrar Rimando Umali said the objective of the convention is to discuss the proper procedures, processes, and guidelines on civil registration. He also presented the Status of the CSFP Civil Registration Report last 2017. Umali furthered that the said annual convention also served as venue for the participants to raise their issues and concerns regarding civil registration. For his part, Mayor Edwin 'EdSa' Santiago emphasized the importance of early registration to keep away from difficulty in case the civil registered documents are needed. On June 6, 2018, the Local Civil Registry Office bagged the 2nd place in the 2017 Outstanding Local Civil Registry Office under the Super ExtraLarge Category conferred by the Philippine Statistics Authority during the 9th National Workshop on Civil Registration. This is in continuance of the city's sincere commitment and dedication in providing quality public service. Meanwhile, Masinloc Zambales Municipal Civil Registrar Richard Lacerona graced the said convention, who served as guest speaker. He discussed the vital events in our life and the different laws affecting vital events.
