Sta. Lucia Lass, Dolores Gent Crowned Mutya At Lakan Ning San Fernando 2018 [ Friday, 1st of June 2018 | 3 weeks ago ]

Another pair of Fernandino youth now have the responsibility of promoting Pampanga’s capital city as they were crowned Mutya at Lakan ning San Fernando 2018 during the coronation ceremony at Bren Z. Guiao Convention Center on Tuesday night. 

Alyssa Jean Navarro of Brgy. Sta Lucia and Peter Chollo Sotiangco of Brgy. Dolores were proclaimed as this year’s title holders and bested 10 other aspirants in their respective categories.

Navarro, who is a second timer in the prestigious pageant, said she really prepared a lot and pushed herself to win the crown.

“I joined last 2015 and from then, inisip ko if I should give it a try. I think this is God’s fate na dalhin ako dito that’s why I chose to join again, she added.

The lass also bagged Punto Mutya Darling of the Press, Mutya Best Advocacy and Best in Long Gown awards.

For his part, Sotiangco said he was overwhelmed and fulfilled that all his hard work has finally paid off.

“Sobrang fulfilling sa pakiramdam kasi I won it for my Barangay at hindi nasayang yung pagod. I would like to say thank you to all the people, especially my family, for supporting me in this journey,” he added.

The gent also received numerous special awards including Lakan Winsome Smile, SunStar Lakan Darling of the Press, Lakan ning Kalikasan, Lakan ning Kalusugan and Lakan Best Advocacy.

Completing the circle of winners for the Mutya title were Jaimee Nicole Manio of Brgy. San Agustin as 1st Runner up and Joanna David of Brgy. Dolores as 2ndrunner up.

For the Lakan category, Gil Nico Sarmiento of Brgy. Dolores and Zahler Billy Nazir of Brgy. Calulut were awarded as 1st and 2nd Runners up, respectively.

Mayor Edwin “EdSa” Santiago extended his warmest congratulations to all the winners and stressed that the contenders’ beauty and grace on stage was a portrayal of Fernandinos’ aptitudes.

“Your success will surely ring through the history of our beloved city. As you compete in bigger contests and face tougher challenges, continue to live up the ideals of a Fernandino and strive to make San Fernando a better place for the generations to come,” he added.
