Future Developments In CSF Bared [ Wednesday, 4th of April 2018 | 1 year ago ]

Fernandinos can expect a more livable and progressive city as the local government presented various upcoming projects in San Fernando during the 1st Local Development Council meeting held Tuesday.

The city targets to build a Civic Center in Brgy. San Isidro which will house a Permanent Evacuation Center, Senior Citizen Center, Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Command Center, Department of Education Personnel Training and Sports Complex, City Government Satellite Offices and a City Park. In order to immediately respond to crimes, accidents and emergency cases in the city, a Command and Control Center is also set to be established. This will consist of a Video Management System, Computer Aided Dispatch system, cabling for voice facilities to collaborate with the different respondent agencies and LED boards to guide motorists on alternative routes in times of disasters, among others. The heritage district and market plaza, which are located at the downtown or Poblacion area, will also be redeveloped to attract more tourists and spur economic growth. The local government also vowed to prioritize the restoration of the San Fernando River along with the construction and beautification of the Riverwalk. This will allow Fernandinos to spend time with nature while enjoying the scenic view of the historic river. In his speech, Mayor Edwin "EdSa" Santiago said that the local government, with the help of active public-private partners, is optimistic in realizing all these projects this year until early 2019. "I enjoin all members of the council to help us create a better environment for our beloved Fernandinos through the implementation of these initiatives. We came up with these plans based on the needs of our city and our constituency" he added. Meanwhile, the City Planning and Development Coordinator's Office disclosed that the proposed 2019 annual investment program totaled to P4.7 Billion. The City Budget Office, on the other hand, discussed the reversion and realignment of appropriations of the 20% Local Development Fund.
