Mayor Edwin "EdSa" Santiago was recently invited for athree-day trip to Japan to meet some local officials in an aim to strengthen economic ties between the City of San Fernando and Japan, particularly Kikugawa City.

"Mayroon kasing isang Japanese-Filipino citizen na naging matagumpay na doon at noong umuwi siya sa Pilipinas ay isa sa mga napuntahan niya ang San Fernando. Nagustuhan niya ang syudad natin kung kaya't inimbitahan nila ako doon," he said. Santiago furthered that the officials want to partner with San Fernando in terms of technology advancement, provision of technical assistance, and modernization of agriculture considering that Kikugawa is known for the production of green tea.
