CSF Acquires ‘Gulong Ng Karunungan' Vehicles [ Wednesday, 7th of February 2018 | 4 months ago ]

The City Government of San Fernando on Monday received two multi-purpose cabs dubbed ‘Gulong ng Karunungan' from the Philseven Foundation Inc., a corporate social responsibility arm of the 7-eleven operators in the Philippines.

Mayor Edwin "EdSa" Santiago, Councilor Nelson Lingat and President of 7-eleven Philippines Steve Chen signed a Memorandum of Agreement and Deed of Donation/Acceptance for the formal turn-over of the vehicles to the local government. The ‘Gulong ng Karunungan' cabs which are equipped with educational materials and school supplies will serve as mobile for Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) targeting children ages 0-4. Assistant City Social Welfare and Development Officer Aileen Villanueva said the vehicles will be deployed in Barangay Del Pilar and Northville due to the absence of ECCD facilities in their area. "We will also be sending volunteers who will teach our beneficiaries on a daily basis until they complete an entire school year," she added. For his part, Mayor EdSa extended his gratitude to the foundation for choosing the city of San Fernando as their beneficiary, first in Pampanga. "Your extended help for our Fernandino children will matter a lot to them not because of the provision of material gains but because of the lifetime seeding of knowledge and life skills that will enable them to live a better life," he added. Meanwhile, Mayor EdSa together with the city councilors and department heads, led the blessing of the 22 newly acquired vehicles of the LGU. Among these are the fire truck, tow truck, military jeeps, and adventure patrols that will be utilized to enhance the city's peace and order and public safety.
