CSF Commemorates Centenary Of National Artist Cesar Legaspi [ Wednesday, 6th of December 2017 | 1 week ago ]

In commemoration of Cesar Legaspi's centennial birth anniversary, the City Government of San Fernando through its City Tourism Office hosted an exhibit at the San Fernando Train Station.

The formal opening of the exhibit held December 4 was led by Mayor Edwin "EdSa" Santiago and City Tourism Officer Ching Pangilinan.

Dubbed "Miligtas," the exhibit features Legaspi's acclaimed art works such as "The Survivor"—an image of a kneeling figure with head turned up to a fiery orange sky that shows bravery and courage.

During the program, Dennis Legaspi, son of Cesar Legaspi, expressed his gratitude to the City Government of San Fernando for acknowledging his late father's contribution to the arts industry.

For his part, Mayor Edwin "EdSa" Santiago said artistic masterpieces like Legaspi's deserve recognition especially by the youth for these also show love and affection for the country.

The said exhibit will be up until February 4, 2018.
