396 Fernandino College Students Receive Scholarship Grants [ Wednesday, 18th of October 2017 | 3 months ago ]

Some 396 college students from the City of San Fernando received their certificates of eligibility as a proof that they were beneficiaries under the City Government's Educational Scholarship Assistance Program (ESAP) during the awarding and orientation of the new set of E-SAP scholars held over the weekend.

ESAP Head Jayson Caguiat said the amount of scholarship grants they can receive depends from their grades and they shall voluntarily participate in at least one community service.
"Dapat yung i-maintain nilang general weighted average is 80% para maging isang scholar sila at diretso na natin itong ibinibigay sa mga schools nila," Caguiat said.

Caguiat also added that full merit scholarships were also given to students enrolled in courses preferred by the City Government such as criminology, midwifery, social work and environmental science.

In his speech, Mayor Edwin "EdSa" Santiago stressed that education is the key to have a better future.

The city mayor also added that the government is always ready and willing to extend help for the education of the students, since it is the administration's top priority.

Also present during the program were Vice Mayor Jimmy Lazatin, City Councilors Harvey Quiwa, Nelson Lingat and Reden Halili.
