Top Taxpayers In CSF Recognized [ Monday, 7th of August 2017 | 4 months ago ]


Some 76 companies and individuals in the city of San Fernando were recognized by the Local Government, through its City Treasurer's Office, for having the highest tax contributions that resulted to a total of P1.26 billion revenue collection for the year 2016.

The awarding ceremony was held during the "3rd Stakeholders' Day and Recognition of Top Taxpayers" on August 3 which was led by Mayor Edwin "EdSa" Santiago, Vice Mayor Jimmy Lazatin and Guest of Honor and Speaker Senator Sonny Angara.

They were also joined by City Councilors Angie Hizon, BJ Lagman, Ruping Dumlao, Harvey Quiwa and Reden Halili, Bureau of Internal Revenue Regional Director Atty. Jethro Sabarriaga, City Administrator Engr. Fernando Limbitco, City Treasurer Mary Ann Bautista, City Assessors' Office OIC Luz Bautista, Business License and Permit Division Chief Joseph Garcia and City Economic Enterprise Division Chief Mila Rivera.

2016's top real property taxpayers are San Miguel Brewery Inc. (Rank 1); SM Prime Holdings, Inc. (Rank 2); San Miguel Beverage Packaging Specialist Inc. (Rank 3); San Miguel Yamamura Packaging Corporation (Rank 4); Robinsons Land Corporation (Rank 5); Luzviminda Land Holdings Inc. (Rank 6); Pepsi-Cola Product Philippines, Inc. (Rank 7); Universal Robina Corporation (Rank 8); Willimson Inc. (Rank 9); St. Catherine Realty Corporation (Rank 10); PASUDECO (Rank 11); Interbev Philippines, Inc. (Rank 12); SMC North Poultry Processing Plant (Rank 13); Tan Song Bok Realty Development Corporation (Rank 14); Sarimanok Feeds Company, Inc. (Rank 15); Coca-Cola Bottlers Phils., Inc. (Rank 16); Singian Brothrs Corp. (Rank 17); Pampanga's Best Incorporated (Rank 18); P.A. Alvarez Property Ventures Inc. (Rank 19); and Caluag, Melchor & Vilma (Rank 20).

The top business taxpayers were divided into six categories. For the manufacturers category, the awardees are PMFTC INC. (Rank 1); Coca-Cola Femsa Philippines, Inc. (Rank 2); UNAHCO Feeds Inc. (Rank 3); ARC Refreshments Corporation (Rank 4); and San Miguel Brewery Inc. (Rank 5).While for the wholesaler, dealer, distributor category, the winners are United Laboratories, Inc. (Rank 1); Zuelig Pharma Corporation (Rank 2); Toyota San Fernando Pampanga, Inc. (Rank 3); Optimized Costumer Solution, Inc. (Rank 4); and Emperador Distillers, Inc. (Rank 5).For retailers category, the top taxpayers are Super Value Inc. (Sm Supermarket – Sm City Pampanga) (Rank 1); Star Appliances Center, Inc. (Rank 2); Kareila Management Corporation (S&R) (Rank 3); Waltermart Supermarket Inc. (Rank 4); And Mandurriao Star, Inc. (Department Store-Sm Downtown) (Rank 5).The awardees for Contactors & Independent Contractors are Manila North Tollways Corporation (Rank 1); Ajinimoto Ohilippines Corporation (Rank 2); The Red Systems Company Inc. (Rank 3); Coca-Cola Femsa Philippines, Inc. (Rank 4); and Toyota San Fernando Pampanga, Inc. (Rank 5). For the services category, SM Prime Holdings, Inc. (Rank 1); Robinsons Incorporated "Department Store" (Rank 2); PASUDECO Development Corporation (Rank 3); Solanaland Development Inc. (Rank 4); and Pueblo De Oro Development Corporation (Rank 5) were recognized respectively. Lastly, the top taxpayers for the category Banking & Financial Institutions are BPI Family Bank - San Agustin Branch (Rank 1); Sun Life of Canada (Philippines), Inc. (Rank 2); East West Bank Corporation (Rank 3); The Philippine American Life & General Insurance Co. (Rank 4); and Sunlife Grepa Financial, Inc. (Rank 5).

San Fernando Electric Light & Power Company (SFELAPCO) was awarded as the Top Franchise Taxpayer while the SM Prime Holdings was named as Top Amusement Taxpayer.

Single proprietors including Josefina T. Siy ("A.A Saver's Mart") (Rank 1); Edgardo Chua ("King's Lumber Abd Hardware") (Rank 2); Dennis D. Rivera (D.D Rivera Construction &Trading) (Rank 3); Gary Laurence Q. Patawaran ("La Corona Ready Mix Concrete") (Rank 4) and Cresencio M. Gomez (Cl Lhanz Trading & Computer Center) (Rank 5) were also given recognition.

Top business taxpayers in the two public markets in the city were also awarded. For the City (New) Public Market, the recipients are Imelda F. Sarmiento "Ifs Store" (Rank 1); Sally G. Go "Enterprices" (Rank 2); and Jessie Regala "5 J's Chicken Dealer" (Rank 3). Also included in the list are Magdalena F. Siy "Store" (Rank 1); Arnel G. Del Rosario "Arnel & Glo (Meat Vendor)" (Rank 2); and Oscar G. Nucup "Owen Pawnshop and Money Remittance" (Rank 3) for the Old Public Market category.

Barangays Telabastagan, Calulut and Malpitic are 2016's top barangay community tax collectors. And Barangays with high real property tax collection are Barangays Quebiawan, Dolores and San Jose.

Special Citations were also given to active agencies, organizations and companies including Bureau of Local Government Finance –Department of Finance (BLGF-DOF) Region III (Rank 1); Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Provincial (Rank 2); Bataan Transit Co., Inc. (Rank 3); Bureau Of Fisheries And Aquatic Resources (BFAR) (Rank 4); Philippine Institute Of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA) Pampanga Chapter (Rank 5); Dona Martha Foundation (Victory Liner) (Rank 6); And Genesis Transport Services, Inc. (Rank 7).

In his speech, Senator Angara lauded the outstanding taxpayers not only for contributing to the local economic growth but also for helping the government render more services to the public.

"Maganda ang kapupuntahan ng mga buwis na ibinabayad ninyo sa San Fernando dahil napakarami ng mga proyektong inilatag para sa inyo ng lokal na pamahalaan," he added.

Angara, who chairs the Senate ways and means committee, also shared his stance on the Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion (Train) Bill of the Duterte administration.

"Ayaw po natin taasan ng tax ang mga bilihin tulad ng gatas at softdrinks dahil mahirapan ang taumbayan. Naging maayos po ang tax system sa mga nagdaang administrasyon at naniniwala po ako na magiging maayos din ngayon," Angara added.

For his part, Mayor Edwin "EdSa" Santiago said the general principle of taxation is that taxes are the lifeblood of our nation, and without taxes, our country cannot deliver government services, build much-needed infrastructure projects and function in efficiency.

"Isang malaking tugon sa ating kaunlaran ang patuloy nyong pagtitiwala sa ating mga serbisyo at sa inyong dedikasyon na maging tapat sa pagbabayad ng mga buwis. As our part of commitment to your efforts, the City of San Fernando will continue in giving you the best services in terms of doing business," Santiago added.
