Del Rosario, Maimpis Named CSF's Best Barangays On ESWM [ Tuesday, 11th of July 2017 | 2 weeks ago ]
CENR Officer Engr. Anele David said the two barangays have shown best practices on waste segregation and exerted efforts in maintaining cleanliness in their respective areas.
For Cluster 1, Barangay Del Rosario outshined Barangays Dela Paz Sur (2nd place) and Magliman (3rd Place). While, Barangays Sta. Lucia and Quebiawan landed 2nd and 3rd place, following Barangay Maimpis, for the Cluster 2 category.
"Gusto natin silang bigyan ng pagkilala dahil sa mahusay na pagpapatupad ng mga environmental programs na inisyatiba ng lokal na pamahalaan. Hangad namin na tularan sila ng iba pang mga barangays dito sa syudad," David added.
Meanwhile, this year's Best MRF are Barangay San Juan (Cluster 1) and Barangay San Isidro (Cluster 2).
CENRO has also given special awards to officials, barangays and private partners for their exemplary support to the ESWM programs and initiatives.
Best Barangay Chairman is Capt. Reginaldo David of Del Rosario; Best Barangay Secretary is Michelle Janice Dizon of Sta. Lucia; Best Barangay Kagawad is Leonardo De Guzman of San Isidro; Best Barangay Council and Cleanest Barangay is Dela Paz Sur and Most Improved Barangay is Malpitic.
Barangay Maimpis was awarded for its Best Garbage Collection System; Barangay Lara for Highest Household Compliance Rate; Barangay Magliman for Highest Waste Diversion Rate; Barangay Sta. Lucia for Best ESWM Enforcement Program; Barangay Dela Paz Sur for Best Livelihood Program; Barangay San Juan for Best Waste Diversion Scheme; Barangay Sindalan for Best Household Collection Utilizing Tribikes; and Barangays Dela Paz Sur and Del Rosario for Best Institutionalized ESWM Program and Most Sustainable Solid Waste Management Program.
Best Barangay Staff are Rudy Quizon (Maimpis), Benedicto Castro (Quebiawan), Dionisio Castro, Jr. (Sindalan), Marissa Alabado (Del Rosario), Elena Capili (Dolores), Gloria Macaspac (San Nicolas), Rodolfo Culala (San Isidro) and Martel Cruz (Telabastagan).
Model Homeowner's Association award was given to Pilar Village, Essel Park Subdivision and St. Jude Village.
2017's Model Schools are St. Scholastica's Aacdemy, University of the Assumption, Nuestra Senora Del Pilar Integrated School, Pampanga High School, San Juan South Elementary School, Information and Communication Technology High School and Lara Integrated School.
In his speech, Mayor Edwin "EdSa" Santiago lauded the grass root leaders for their hard work in the implementation of waste management approaches towards a zero waste community.
"Bilang mga lider, tayo ang dapat na manguna at magsilbing ehemplo sa pagkalinga sa Inang Kalikasan upang mahikayat natin ang bawat Fernandino na makibahagi sa ating layunin tungo sa mas maayos at mas malinis na syudad," Santiago added.
