CSF Supports National Plan For Water Security [ Thursday, 6th of July 2017 | 3 weeks ago ]

The City Government of San Fernando, led by Mayor Edwin "EdSa" Santiago, supports the move of the National Water Resources Board and University of the Philippines Los Banos towards achieving a comprehensive National Plan for Water Security in the country.

During a pre-summit conducted Wednesday, Santiago stressed the crucial role of water not only in human's life but particularly in attaining sustainable development for the entire community.

"Through this mutual movement of creating an efficient water way management, we can craft plans to maintain a water system that is adequate for the standards of food production, proper sanitation, and workable health for the Filipinos," he added.

The city mayor also shared that the LGU continues to come up with water management strategies as part of its development plan under the Environment agenda.

Spearheaded by National Water Roadmap and Summit 2017 Secretary General Ernesto Ordonez, the said activity marks the fourth of the seven pre-summits on water leading to a national summit which are conducted in Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao throughout this year.

Ordonez said these summits focused on areas of household, urban, agriculture, environment, economy, resilience and governance all aim to address the serious water issues in the Philippines.

Also present during the pre-summit are the CSFP Water Resources Management Board, City Health Office and City Environment and Natural Resources Office staff, and representatives from the Water District Association, academe and the private sector.
