Mayor EdSa Advocates For A Healthier CSF [ Tuesday, 11th of February 2014 | 4 years ago ]
The City of San Fernando has gone beyond the basics as the Groundbreaking and Unveiling of the Construction of the Organic Trading Post took place, led by Mayor Edwin D. Santiago, on February 5.
As a project of the Agribusiness and Marketing Assistance Division of the Department of Agriculture RFO III, the Organic Trading Post will be situated at the New Public Market, Barangay Del Pilar.
“Through the initiative of the Local Government Unit, the Organic Trading Post will be opened to all Fernandinos in a span of just 3 months. The new public market fits as the right place to market the organically grown food since the consumers visit the place everyday,” said Mayor EdSa during the program.
The groundbreaking ceremony was conducted by Mayor EdSa together with City Councilor BJ Lagman, DA’s Charito Libut, OPA’s Crispin Guintu and City Agriculturist Myrna Manabat.
Present also at the program was Kaganapan 2014 Chairperson Ceferino Pamintuan. “I encourage every Fernandino to be observant on the food that they eat. I could not agree more that health is our wealth,” he claimed.
In coordination with the City Agriculture and Veterinary Office (CAVO) and Provincial Agriculture Office, the Organic Trading Post will be selling organic meat advocating for a healthier City of San Fernando.
