CSF Conducts Waterways Clean Up Drive [ Monday, 7th of September 2015 | 2 years ago ]


The city government of San Fernando through its City Environment and Natural Resources Office held a Citywide Waterways Clean-up Day in observance of the International Coastal Clean-up Month on September 4.

Leading the event is City Mayor Edwin D. Santiago together with DILG Pampanga Provincial Director Myrvi Apostol Fabia, Committee on Environmental Protection, Natural Resources Waterways and Flooding Intervention Chairman Councilor Benedict Jasper Lagman, and City Environment and Natural Resources Officer Engr. Anele David.

The event aims to create awareness and understanding among the community on how important it is to clean the surroundings even waterways to prevent flooding and to have a safe and garbage free environment.

According to Mayor EdSa, the city government is one with its people in creating a better San Fernando, which includes understanding of environment rules and regulations.

“Nakikiisa tayo sa iba’t ibang sektor maging sa mga pribadong kumpanya upang lalong mapaigting ang pagpapatupad natin sa pagkakaroon ng malinis at progresibong kapaligiran. Ipinapakita natin na sa kabila ng pagsulong ng ating siyudad, hindi rin napapabayaan ang ating kapaligiran,” said Mayor EdSa.

The said event was also joined by the Bureau of Jail Management, Pampanga Environment and Natural Resources Office, Department of Science and Technology Pampanga and the City of San Fernando Water District.

The activity of San Fernando is in accordance with Mayor EdSa’s 12-point agenda on promoting a clean environment for fellow Fernandinos.
