CSF Conducts Zumba Fest Against TB [ Friday, 28th of August 2015 | 2 years ago ]

In line with the celebration of Lung Month, the city government headed by Mayor Edwin Santiago, held a Zumba dance competition August 28 at the Heroes Hall.

Themed “Stop TB: Hanapin, Gamutin, Pagalingin,” this aims to create awareness on tuberculosis and promote healthy lifestyle among Fernandinos.

Rural Health Physician Dr. Renely Tungol said that in order to prevent TB in the community, one must practice healthy lifestyle and proper nutrition.

“It goes hand in hand with lifestyle.

For his part, Mayor EdSa pointed out that his administration aims to create a TB free city by providing free medicine to all patients through barangay health centers.

Besting other contenders is the Women’s Federation of San Fernando followed by the delegates from Philippine National Police in second place, VL Makabali Hospital in third place and the youth sector in fourth place.

Mayor EdSa is encouraging all Fernandinos to acquire all the services of the City Health Office especially in preventing contagious and infectious disease including TB and HIV.

Witnessing the event was Vice Mayor Jimmy T. Lazatin, Councilor Noel Tulabut, City Health Officer Eloisa Aquino, TB/HIV MSGC Chairperson Dr. Leticia Yap, San Fernando Chief of Police Col. Jean Fajardo, Gender and Development Officer Amy Catacutan.
