San Fernando Holds Early Childhood Care Development Seminar [ Monday, 10th of August 2015 | 2 years ago ]
The activity was led by City Mayor Edwin D. Santiago together with ECCD Executive Director Dr. Teresita Inciong, ECCD Education Consultant Dr. Yolanda Quijano, ECCDC Planning Officer III Ms. Barbara Dumlao, Program Development Officer Remelyn Malaquilla, Information Technology Officer Newelle Magas, Child Development Teacher Salvacion Mananquil, ECCD Officer Aileen Villanueva and CSWD Officer Iris Biliwang.
The orientation seminar aims to create awareness among parents, teachers and members of the local council for the protection of children to further instruct and teach the society on the importance of early childhood care development program.
According to Early Childhood Care Development Officer Aileen Villanueva, the ECCD Program is a comprehensive response because it gives notice to children aged 0-8 years old as the crucial years of development of a child.
“Yung mga approach natin sa pagbibigay ng intervention ay tama para ang paghubog sa ating mga kabataan ay wasto at makakatulong sa kanilang paglaki,” said Villanueva.
For his part, Mayor Edwin D. Santiago said that the city is getting ready for a universal and quality ECCD services in which it would recognize the early learning and child development.
“Napakahalaga ng pagbibigay ng hustong pundasyon sa kasanyan at paguugali ng kabataan. Gusto natin na s amurang edad ay mabigyan na sila ng tamang intervention through our day care program at child health care services sa ating barangay,” said Mayor EdSa.
The Early Childhood Care Development Program is fully supported by the city government especially it is in line with Mayor EdSa’s agenda on health and education.
He also thanked the National Early Childhood Care Development Council for choosing the city of San Fernando as one of its pilot implementer of the National Child Development Center and giving eleven day care workers the privilege of training under the scholarship program on Early Childhood Education.
The National Child Development Center in Barangay Sindalan serves as the model facility and resource center in providing assistance and promotes standardization and provision for a child friendly learning environment.
Mayor EdSa said that the continuous training and coaching of the ECCD Council, the city’s day care workers will be able to capacitate and provide more accurate and effective approach on childhood care.
The local government unit of San Fernando has allotted a P4 million for the implementation of day care programs and activities and there will also be an additional fund coming from the Bottoms Up Budgeting that will be used for the construction and repair of daycare centers all over the city.
“Our achievement in ECCD will determine the future of our kids in school as they become independent and emotionally mature in coping with challenges for the rest of their childhood years,” said Mayor EdSa.
Mayor EdSa is encouraging everyone to cooperate with the city government of San Fernando through its Early Childhood Care Development Council to further disseminate information and promotion in line with the importance of proper child development.
