CSF Youth Officials Take Oath [ Monday, 16th of September 2013 | 4 years ago ]
“As the City Mayor, we want to give our youth the right disposition when it comes to leading. Being a leader at a young age is the starting point to become an effective leader in the future,” Mayor EdSa said.
Youth City Mayor Jude Paolo Bognot from Pampanga High School addressed his fellow youth city officials as well as the employees of the City Government during the Monday flag rites.
“It is important to mold my fellow youth to be leaders at a young age because this [experience] can serve as our stepping stone. And if given the chance, I want to take part in directing our fellow students and Fernandinos for the betterment of our city,” Bognot said.
Ailaina Danielle Aquino from St. Scholastica’s Academy was selected as Youth Vice Mayor and Carl Jacob Bundang from San Lorenzo Ruiz Center of Studies and Schools was named 1st City Councilor.
The new youth officials were selected according to the criteria set by the Rotary Club of San Fernando (P) and student representatives underwent written assessment, oral exam and panel interview.
“Take this opportunity to set as good examples to your fellow students. Not everyone is given the chance to lead. Take this big opportunity as your ‘calling’ to serve your own City,” Mayor EdSa added.
Youth week activities include office tours, observation of actual Sangguniang session, briefing on parliamentary procedures, attendance to Rotary meetings, plant visit at LausGroup and local radio and television appearances.
The Rotary Youth Week will run from September 16-20, 2013. Other participating schools are ICT High School, University of the Assumption, Sindalan High School, Maimpis Integrated School, Lara Integrated School, St. Vincent of Quebiawan Integrated School, CSF West Integrated School, Panipuan Integrated School, Northville High School, San Isidro Integrated School, Our Lady of Fatima University, Harvardian Colleges, and Saguin Integrated School. ---CSF-CIO
