CSF And DOLE Partner For Fernandinos [ Wednesday, 22nd of July 2015 | 2 years ago ]

More than two hundred Fernandinos coming from different barangays in the city benefited from the joint program of the city government of San Fernando and the Department of Labor and Employment.

Through the City Employment and Services Division, marginalized workers were awarded with personal protective equipment under the “Tulong Panghanapbuhay Para Sa Disadvantaged Workers” or TUPAD Program.

According to Chief Local Employment Officer Arlene Tolentino of Pampanga Field Office, TUPAD is one of the programs of the Department of Labor and Employment which aims to provide emergency work to displaced or marginalized citizens in the community.

A period of 10 days will be consumed under the program and will be paid by the DOLE of a minimum wage amounting to three hundred forty nine pesos daily.

The beneficiaries received protective equipment such as working boots, cap, t-shirt, mask and gloves that will be used in their assigned work.

“Ang gagawin po nila ay maglilinis sa kanilang locality, it’s a community activity wherein pwede sila maglinis ng mga kanal, magrepair ng mga public facilities or any other activities,” said Tolentino.

The said program is under the Bottoms Up Budgeting wherein the national government together with the local government unit join forces to implement the TUPAD program.

A twenty percent share will be given by the local government unit of San Fernando for the project cost while the remaining will be shouldered by the Department of Labor and Employment.

For his part, Mayor EdSa said that this program of DOLE, is one way of helping fellow Fernandinos to have a job and earn a living for their family.

“Nakikita natin ang malasakit ng DOLE sa ating mga kapwa Fernandinos. Nabibigyan ng pagkakataon ang mga taong walang trabaho na magkaroon ng pansamantalang pagkakakitaan. Ito ay isang halimbawa ng bayanihan dahil tulong tulong tayo.”

Mayor EdSa is encouraging Fernandinos that don’t have a job to engage in the activity of the city in partnership with the Department of Labor and Employment in creating a substantial living especially those who belongs in the marginalized sector of the community.
