Mover’s Walk And Pampering Day Honored Fernandinas [ Friday, 6th of March 2015 | 3 years ago ]
Lead by Women’s Month 2015 Chairperson Dr. Leticia Yap, Committee Chairperson on Women and Family Affairs, Councilor Jack Calimlim, and Gender and Development Focal Person Amy Catacutan.
According to Councilor Calimlim, the event aims to raise awareness among the women sector of the city and make them realize their worth and contribution by simply being a mother, a daughter and even a sister.
She also pointed out the small actions of women in being a part of the community.
“Ang simpleng pagbibigay gabay ng mga kababaihan sa kanilang mga anak upang maging isang mabuting tao ay napakalaking bagay na kontribusyon sa lipunan, para ma-achieve yung progress at gender equality na gusto natin,” added Councilor Calimlim.
The event was attended by different city government officials, women sectors from all 35 barangays of the city and some from the private sector.
For her part, Committee Chairperson on Women’s Month 2015, Dr. Leticia Yap said that the Pampering Day is just one way of showing thank you to all women who holds great participation in making a better city.
With this, Dr. Yap stressed that there are many great things a woman can accomplish and with this activity, the city is showing their gratitude towards women.
“Para po sa kaunlaran, sama-sama sana ang lahat at ipakita na iisa ang pwersa ng kababaihan at dahil dito mas marami tayo magagwa hindi lamang para sa ating mga pamilya kundi para na rin sa ating bansa.,” said Dr. Yap.
With this, the local government of San Fernando, under the leadership of Mayor Edwin D. Santiago, is doing its best to provide a better life for women sector of the community.
“We have to work hand in hand with the City of San Fernando para yung empowerment dapat mag-umpisa po sa kanilang sarili,” said Councilor Calimlim.
GAD Mover’s Walk and Pampering Day is just one of the activities of the city in line with the celebration of Women’s Month.
