Mayor EdSa Guarantees ‘seamless Transition’ [ Monday, 1st of July 2013 | 4 years ago ]

Also present during the Monday rites are Vice-Mayor Jaime T. Lazatin and the new set of City Councilors, namely, Angie Hizon, Dein Henson, Noel Tulabut, BJ Lagman, Ayzel Macalino, Nelson Lingat, Lito Ocampo, Tino Dizon, Harvey Quiwa and Jacklyn Calimlim.

“We will make our work rewarding. The public is assured of a seamless transition from the previous administration to the new one,” said Mayor Santiago, who immediately called for an executive meeting with the Department Head and Division chiefs of the Local Government Unit.

Vice Mayor Lazatin called for unity among incoming officials and current heads of offices as he addressed them during the meeting.

For his part, the new City Administrator and concurrent City Planning Officer Engr. Fernando A. Limbitco reiterated that the recent release of a memorandum indicating the ‘end of appointment’ of some labor payroll and casual employees is part of the bureaucratic transition.

“By law, temporary employees are co-terminus to the appointing authority. On the other hand, we will be prioritizing the re-hiring of the employees according to the number of personnel needed in addition to their competency,” Limbitco said.

“The Department Heads need to evaluate the re-hiring of employees will also be based on the needs of the offices and the priority programs of the new administration against the availability of funds,” Limbitco added.

The first session of the fifth Sangguniang Panlungsod is scheduled on Wednesday, July 3 and an Executive Conference is also set on July 4 to review City initiatives and layout the implementation of plans for the remaining part of the fiscal year. ---CSF-CIO
