On July 30, 2025, through the joint efforts of the City Public Employment Services Office (CPESO), the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Pampanga Field Office, and the unwavering support of Senator Loren B. Legarda, the DOLE’s Emergency Employment Program payout for 79 Fernandino beneficiaries was successfully held in the City of San Fernando, Pampanga.
Spearheaded by CPESO Manager Ms. Mary Ann C. Biliwang, the initiative was part of the city’s continuous commitment to uplift the lives of vulnerable constituents, particularly those displaced and unemployed. This program was made possible through the collaborative partnership between the local government and national stakeholders such as DOLE, represented by Ms. Alpha Panganiban (DOLE’s Program Coordinator), and with the strong advocacy of Senator Loren B. Legarda, whose support for grassroots employment programs has been instrumental in empowering communities nationwide.
The payout event was graced by City Councilors Hon. Reginaldo David and Hon. Jayson Sicat, who delivered warm messages to all participants present. The 79 beneficiaries completed 10 days of essential cleanup operations in various public areas and response facilities throughout the city. The program not only served as a short-term source of income but also as a crucial step in the collective effort to rehabilitate and strengthen the community’s resilience.
The program formed part of the 10-point agenda under the excellent leadership of Mayor Vilma Balle Caluag towards employment facilitation.
