City Youth Development Officer

 

  1. Implement and prioritize youth welfare, youth advocacies, culture and sports programs and projects at the city level, ensuring alignment with the Philippine Youth Development Plan (PYDP), the Local Development Plan and other relevant plans.
  2. Prepare and implement year-round physical fitness and recreational programs for the youth, in coordination with offices/agencies, barangays, and other stakeholders.
  3. Conduct research and data gathering to assess the needs and concerns of the youth sector;
  4. Organize youth development activities such as leadership training, skills development, environmental awareness, health and wellness, and values formation;
  5. Implement grassroots sports development programs and organize sports competitions and leagues;
  6. Coordinate with the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK), educational institutions, youth organizations, and national government agencies;
  7. Checking and technical assistance to the Sangguniang Kabataan in preparation of SK Annual Budget, Annual Barangay Youth Investment Program and Comprehensive Barangay Youth Development Plan;
  8. Monitor and evaluate the implementation of youth and sports-related programs in the barangay level.
  9. Register and verify youth and youth-serving organizations subject to the revitalized Youth Organizations Registration Program guidelines;
  10. Provide technical assistance to the Local Youth Development Council (LYDC) of the concerned LGU in the formulation of the Local Youth Development Plan (LYDP);
  11. Facilitate the election and serve as the secretariat of the Local Youth Development Council;
  12. Conduct the mandatory and continuing training of SK officials and LYDC members, in accordance with the programs jointly designed and implemented by the Commission and the DILG;
  13. Provide technical, logistical, and other support in the conduct of the mandatory and continuing training programs, and to such other programs of the Commission and DILG.
  14. Supervise and monitor all recreational and sports facilities of the city government.
  15. Assist youth representatives and athletes in sports, academic, cultural, and other competitions by providing necessary support such as logistics, funding, resources, and manpower in representing the City.
  16. Coordinate with the National Youth Commission about the youth programs within the jurisdiction and;
  17. Recommend policies and programs to the City Mayor and Sangguniang Panlungsod relating to youth and sports development
POLICY AND PLANNING DIVISION

1. Ensure evidence-based and data-driven policy formulation, program planning, and performance evaluation for youth development programs;
2. Conducts studies, maintains data banking, and assesses the effectiveness and impact of youth development programs and policies;
3. Monitors and evaluates SK plans, activities, and fund utilization in accordance with RA 10742 and related guidelines.

PROGRAM AND OPERATIONS DIVISION

1. Responsible for the execution and supervision of youth- and sports-related programs, projects, and activities of the Office;
2. Oversees the coordination, execution, and monitoring of youth projects, ensuring alignment with approved plans and objectives;
3. Formulates and implements sports development programs, manages city-owned sports facilities, and promotes grassroots participation in sports and physical activities.
