Thousands Benefited From Ligtas-Tigdas Campaign [ Wednesday, 24th of September 2014 | 3 years ago ]

The health office of the city government has already immunized more than 22,000 Fernandino children under the Ligtas-Tigdas program of the Department of Health.

The mass immunization campaign aims to help lessen the growing cases of measles, as well as to make the Philippines a polio-free country, including the LGU of San Fernando, Pampanga.

“Nagbibigay tayo ng libreng bakuna sa mga batang may edad limang taon pababa” said health officer Eloisa Aquino adding that the massive vaccination is still on-going until September 30.

She noted that fixed post in 44 health centers which are found in the city’s 35 barangays were established to ensure that everyone can avail the program.

She explained that this is a supplemental immunization activity therefore children who were already immunized are still encouraged to avail the medication.

On the other hand, Dr. Leticia Yap, Medical Director of VL Makabali Memorial Hospital, said that they will be open Wednesday and Friday to help the LGU in the immunization drive.
