CSF Lantern Makers Reorganized [ Monday, 29th of July 2013 | 4 years ago ]
“Eventually, we are planning to create a sort of ‘cooperative’ so that we can help each other in terms procuring raw materials,” the newly-elected Vice-President Roland Quiambao said.
Other elected officers are: Leonora Paras (Secretary), Eric Quiwa (Treasurer), and Daisy Flores (Auditor). Arnold Manalang, Noel Mendoza, Paul Paras and Allan Capati constitute the Board of Directors.
“Our new president comes from a barangay with the most number of lantern sellers that is why he knows our concerns,” outgoing President Arvin Quiwa, who is now part of the board of advisors, said.
The CSFP-LMA is composed of 19 local lantern-making businessmen and is now preparing for the expected increase in the number of “Parul Sampernandu” orders in time for the Christmas season.
The City Government led by Mayor Edwin D. Santiago supports the group through the intervention of the City Tourism and Investment Promotions office (CTIPO).
“We support our lantern makers since they are the men and women behind our town product which is also considered as one of the best in the country,” CTIPO head Ching Pangilinan-Gonzales said. ---CSF-CIO
