VP Binay Visits CSF, Joins Fernandino ‘boodle Fight’ [ Monday, 10th of March 2014 | 4 years ago ]

Philippine Vice President and Housing and Urban Development Coordinating Council (HUDCC) Chairman Jejomar Binay dropped by in City of San Fernando on March 10 to do an inspection at the Old Public Market and join Fernandinos in a ‘boodle fight.’

“We feel privileged because it’s not everyday that we get a visit from the Vice President. This is one way of strengthening the bond between the local government and national government,” said Mayor Edwin D. Santiago.

The Vice President’s group was also accompanied by Vice Mayor Jimmy Lazatin, Councilors Neslon Lingat and BJ Lagman during a brief tour of the public market in Barangay Sto. Rosario. Atty. Darlene Marie Berberabe, CEO and President of PAG-IBIG Fund, also joined the visit to the City.

The quick mingling with vendors and market-goers was followed by a ‘boodle fight’ where the Vice President joined Mayor Santiago and the Fernandino community in enjoying rice with tocino, adobong manok, mixed vegetables and torta.

Vice President Binay decided to visit Pampanga’s capital as he was on his way to Mabalacat City to express his concern to the victims of the alleged questionable PAG-IBIG Fund loans by Globe Asiatique founder Delfin Lee who was recently arrested.

“As the chairman of PAG-IBIG, I’m bringing some updates with me as I visit residents today in Xevera, Mabalacat. And as for the Kapampangans here in San Fernando, thank you for the good food and good company,” Binay added. ---CSF-CIO
