Mayor EdSa Vows: “CSF Economy Will Be More Dynamic” [ Monday, 10th of February 2014 | 3 years ago ]

During the 14th Regional Development Council (RDC) meeting, San Fernando City Mayor Edwin D. Santiago expressed his commitment to work in synergy with various sectors to achieve inclusive growth in Central Luzon.

“My administration is one with the RDC in making San Fernando’s economy a more dynamic one,” Santiago said.

As the regional center, San Fernando affirmed its role in meeting the growing demands of the region.

“We will achieve this by making our governance practices more efficient and developing infrastructure,” Santiago added.

Department of Trade Industry (DTI) Regional Director Judith Angeles lauded the City for ranking third in the Local Economic Development and Competitiveness Index. Last year, the National Competitiveness Council ranked San Fernando as the 3rd Most Competitive City in the Philippines.

RDC’s second Full Council Meeting hosted by the National Economic Development Authority (NEDA) also tackled 2013 accomplishments and preparations related to the drafting of a new roadmap focused on capacity building.

Top officials from provinces, cities and municipalities of Region III attended the program.

NEDA Regional Director and RDC Vice-Chairman Severino C. Santos facilitated the activity aimed at enhancing public administration and encouraging the involvement of stakeholders to make other cities and municipalities more competitive.

RDC included Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps), increasing student participation, and values formation among its priorities this year. ---CSF-CIO
