Fernandinos Join Movement To End HIV/AIDS [ Wednesday, 25th of May 2016 | 1 year ago ]

Fernandinos have actively showed support in the movement to end HIV/AIDS epidemic through a commemoration of the Philippine International AIDS candlelight memorial on May 14.

A candle lighting ceremony was held in front of the City Hall as a sign of remembering those who lost their lives to HIV/AIDS.

Rural Health Physician Dr. Renely Tungol said the commemoration was simultaneously held nationwide from 6:00 until 7:00 in the evening.

“We have also enjoined participants from neighbouring towns and cities because in Region 3, only the City of San Fernando and Olongapo have conducted the said activity.”

Meanwhile, Mayor Edwin ‘EdSa’ Santiago and Vice Mayor Jimmy Lazatin led the signing of commitment to stop the spread of HIV by raising public awareness.
In his speech, Santiago said “Gusto natin na maging malusog ang taga San Fernando at taga Region 3 kaya nakikiisa tayo sa pagsugpo sa pagkalat ng HIV AT AIDS.
