For the mayoral and vice-mayoral race, Liberal Party bets Mayor Edwin D. Santiago and Vice Mayor Jaime T. Lazatin, both unopposed, garnered 92, 682 and 92,488 votes respectively.
LP dominated the race among councilor aspirants. The ten councilors elected to the Sangguniang Panglungsod are: Angelica Hizon (LP), 72,418 votes; Benedict Jasper Lagman (LP), 66,713; Renato Agustin (LP), 66,179; Noel Tulabut (LP) 60,311; Ayzel Macalino (LP), 59,675; Nelson Lingat (LP), 54,828; Harvey Quiwa (LP), 54,671; Celestino Dizon (LP), 51,193; Redentor Halili (IND), 46,400; and Ruperto Dumlao (LP), 45,340.
City of San Fernando winning candidates were proclaimed by acting election officer of Atty. Cristina Garcia around 5 P.M. Wednesday.
Garcia said the May 9 election in the city was generally peaceful with minor problems, mostly with vote-counting machines.
