Children's Month Activities Slated [ Thursday, 5th of November 2015 | 1 year ago ]

With the theme “Pamahalaan at Komunidad Sama-samang itaguyod Kaligtasan ng Batang Fernandino,” activities for child protection and rights fill the month of November, spearheaded by the Local Council for the Protection of Children (LCPC) chaired by Mayor Edwin D. Santiago and the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO).
On November 2, the “Share a Joy and Donate a Toy“ scheme in offices of the city government started to benefit day care children.

In partnership of the provincial government, the city shall launch provincial children’s congress at the Bren Z. Guiao Convention Center on November 12.

Delegates from this LGU shall participate on the regional children’s congress in Angeles City while a feeding program and health education seminar shall be simultaneously held to street dwellers on November 17.
Officers of the Barangay Council for the Protection of Children will have a capability building seminar in Magalang, Pampanga on November 19 to 20.

Day care students are set to attend a Camp Bulilit Program at the Heroes Hall on November 23. On the other hand, a forum for out of school youth is scheduled on the following day (November 24).
Meanwhile, Mayor Edwin D. Santiago will deliver his state of the children’s report during the LGU’s 2nd Children's Summit on November 26.

To cap the month-long celebration, a seminar on proper nutrition shall be launched followed by a supplemental feeding program on November 27.

Previously, the children’s month is observed during October but because of Republic Act 10661 signed by President Aquino, November was declared as the National Children’s Month starting this year.
