CSF Gives Subsidies To GLF Participants [ Wednesday, 23rd of September 2015 | 2 years ago ]


The City Government of San Fernando through the Giant Lantern Festival Foundation (GLFF) has awarded financial aid to eleven participating barangay of this year’s Ligligan Parul.

During Monday Flag raising activity, Mayor Edwin D. Santiago, Vice Mayor Jimmy Lazatin, Councilors Nelson Lingat, Harvey Quiwa, BJ Lagman, and GLFF President Alfrito Mah led the ceremonial awarding of cash cheque amounting to P180 thousand as subsidies to participants who will compete on December 19 at Robinsons Starmills.

This year’s festival will be participated in by 11 barangays namely San Jose, Dolores, Santo Nino, San Nicolas, San Juan, Telabastagan, Del Pilar, Santa Lucia, Calulut and two newcomers, Sindalan and Pandaras.

This year, the lanterns’ sizes were limited to 20 feet in diameter with 15,000 bulbs only. New materials including capiz shells and LED lights are expected for added attractions.
