CSF Identifies Local Dev’t Fund Priorities For 2016 [ Tuesday, 22nd of September 2015 | 2 years ago ]


The local government unit of San Fernando under the stewardship of Mayor Edwin D. has identified the priority programs for the utilization of the city’s 20% local development fund for 2016.

During a meeting held September 17 at the Heroes Hall, the local development council, chaired by Mayor Santiago, has bared the proposed projects for environmental management, social and economic development programs.

For 2016, the city’s estimated total 20% development fund amounts to P118 million.

47.56% or more P56 million of this will be used under economic development for the construction and rehabilitation of roads and bridges, farm mechanization, provision of irrigation facilities, and aid to barangays.

Meanwhile the allotment for environmental management programs is about 37.02% or P44 million, projects lined under this are urban greening developments, solid waste management assistance program for barangays and communities, improvement of the city transfers station, rehabilitation of former city disposal facility, development of an eco park, procurement of air quality detector, and flood control measures.

For social services, the appropriated amount is 15.42% or more than P18 million, under this are construction and rehabilitations health centers and birthing stations, purchase of medical equipment, and many more.

“Ginagawa natin ito para maging pangmatagal at pangmalawakan ang kaunlaran sa San Fernando, lahat ng ating mga programa ay dumadaan sa masusing pag-aaral, kasama syempre ang private sectors” said Mayor Santiago.

Present at the meeting were Vice Mayor Jimmy Lazatin, Councilor Nelson Lingat, City Department Heads led by Administrator Engr. Fer Limbitco, Association of Barangay Captains headed by President Angel Wijangco, San Fernando Water District Director Fer Caylao, Multi Sectoral Governance Council Chairperson Loi David, representatives of business sectors like the Pampanga Chamber of Commerce, members of the academe, among others.
