CSF Observes National Day Care Workers’ Week [ Monday, 8th of June 2015 | 2 years ago ]

Four (4) child development workers were honored as retirees during Monday’s flag ceremony on June 8 at the City Hall in line with the city’s observation of National Day Care Workers’ Week.

Recognized were Rosalina Figueroa, Paulita Nubla, Ester Aquino and Teresita Mella. The first has been in the service for 11 years while the other three have been day care workers for 29 years.

According to City Social Welfare and Development Assistant Officer Aileen Villanueva, National Day Care Workers Week was declared under Presidential Proclamation 404 issued by former president Gloria Macapagal Arroyo to give recognition to all day care and nursery workers.

“Pinasisisnayaan natin ito upang mabigyang pagkilala ang mga natatanging day care workers na isa sa mga humuhubog ng kabataang Pilipino,” Villanueva said.

“We would like to enhance the role of our day care workers. Yung mga contributions nila ay napakahalaga dahil nagiging parte sila ng development ng pagkatao ng mga kabataaan dito sa San Fernando,” she further stated.

For his part, Mayor Edwin D. Santiago pointed out that the city is aiming to provide quality education to youngsters by producing professional day care workers.

“Nakita naman natin kung gaano sila kadedikado sa trabaho nila bilang mga guro sa mga kabataan. Yung responsibilidad nila bilang mga day care workers ay mahirap, lalo na’t hinuhubog nila ang kaisipan ng mga bata,” he added.

Joining Mayor EdSa in honoring the retirees were members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod, City Administrator Engr. Fernando Limbitco and City Human Resource Development Officer Rachelle Yusi.

National Day Care Workers’ Week will be observed from June 7 to 11 as stated in the presidential proclamation.
